my reading at mam's funeral.

my mam Ruth Ayre.
on saturday the 4th of july 1931
was the day my mam was born
the first day she cried,

She raised three daughters and had three grandchildren
and always lived right,
we were always safe and warm,
before she slept each night.

She worked hard all through her life
as a mother and a friend to bring us up right.

She wasn't rich, or poor or even famous
but she did her very best and always loved us.

Life's not easy
nor was it fair
now she's older
with alot of grey hair

She always cared and spoke the truth
and done alot for others
so here's a salute to my mam ruth.

My mam made our days bright and happy,
and she made the sun shine round us
she tried to make everyone around her cheerful and happy
by smiling through the pain,
bless her but that's my mam for you.

on the 18th feb that's when my mam's life came to the end,
and the clouds closed in and took every pain away
Im pleased she's in no more pain cos she didn't desever to go what she went through,
but the way i look at it now she's in paradise and her life will go on.
she's not alone cos she'll be with loved ones that's my dad joe and her much loved son in law keith
pink.
they will lead her to all the best places to go,
she will also meet up with some of her family members and friends
so we needn't worry down here.
mam we will never stop loving and thinking of you

our mam Ruth died of kidney failure
Ruth was 1 of 4 sisters and 5 brothers but should of been 1 of the boys thats what people say ,
she was a tom boy and known as snoofy when she was growing up in grangetown as a child,she never had
a boyfriend because all her mates were lads.Thats why her family was shocked when she came in and
said she was getting married. she married Joe Ayre and thats when they went on to live at Ryhope .
Ruth and Joe went on and had three girls Maureen, Alice and Janet.
Joe Ayre passed away suddenly on the 19th june 1983 at the age of 50, that left Ruth to bring up the
family on her own and what a great job she done well i think so anyway, she always put us first no
matter what.
she liked to be centre of attention by making people laugh and sometimes cry,
she always had something she could pull out of her pocket like a hat a false nose etc,etc.
Ruth also had three grandchildren that she loved and cared for very much,
Hayley was the apple of her eye and could do no wrong ,
Then Liam the first boy in the family,
Then along came dale the baby's baby
